Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are an excellent, versatile option for a number of different types of problems with your smile. Consisting of a thin layer of strong, durable dental porcelain, porcelain veneers can restore a flawless, natural-looking surface to your teeth while strengthening the underlying tooth.

Some uses for porcelain veneers include:

  • Restoring function and appearance of chipped, cracked, and broken teeth
  • Correcting slight crookedness in the smile
  • Repairing and correcting teeth that are unevenly sized or shaped
  • Repairing teeth with excessive wear
  • Whitening and brightening a dull or stained smile

How Porcelain Veneers Work

Made of strong dental grade porcelain, porcelain veneers are designed to recreate the color, texture, and luminosity of natural tooth enamel. Affixed to the front of your teeth using specially formulated, light-activated adhesive, porcelain veneers can improve the appearance of your teeth.

Porcelain veneers are custom made for your needs, we can correct not just surface problems, but many structural problems as well. For example, if your front teeth are crooked or uneven, we can often use porcelain veneers to even out their size and placement.

The Porcelain Veneer Process

The porcelain veneer process takes place in two parts, after a thorough dental examination, we will prepare your teeth for your veneers, and take a precise custom mold of your teeth.

Using this mold, we will create your new porcelain veneers. Creating the custom porcelain veneers usually takes few weeks, but during that time, you will be fitted with temporary veneers. Once the porcelain veneers have been created, we will affix them securely to the front of your natural teeth, making any necessary adjustments.

Once you are happy with the appearance of your veneers, we will permanently secure them to your teeth using a specially formulated bonding adhesive that is activated using a bright light to complete the bonding process.
