Sedation Dentistry

Our sedation dentistry options are designed to make dentistry comfortable and accessible to everyone—even those who experience severe anxiety about dentist visits.

We Offer a Range of Sedation Options For Our Patients, Including:

  • Conscious Sedatives - which can be taken before your appointment to relieve anxiety and help you relax. We are equipped to offer minimal to moderate levels of conscious sedation to suit your needs. Speak to us to find out what options would be appropriate for you.
  • Nitrous Oxide Sedation - commonly called laughing gas, provides relaxation and a minimal level of sedation. Its effects can be reversed with oxygen and have no long-lasting effects.

Combined with painkillers to manage physical discomfort, our sedation dentistry options can make your dentist visit as comfortable and painless as possible, regardless of the procedure you're having done.

What To Expect

For any type of dental sedation at our office, we will first schedule you for a consultation.

For most of our sedation dentistry options, we ask that you arrange for transportation to and from your appointment, as some of our options may leave you feeling somewhat groggy or sleepy following your procedure.

Depending on the specific type of sedation, you may be asked to take additional steps as well. For example, if you've chosen oral sedatives, we may ask that you take them before you arrive for your appointment.

Once you arrive at our office, we will assist you to the treatment chair to get comfortable, then administer any in-office sedatives. Once these have taken effect and you are comfortable and at ease, we will begin your procedures.

In most cases, patients report little or no discomfort during the procedure. In some cases, patients actually fall asleep during the procedure and wake up once it is complete.

If necessary, we may prescribe you additional painkillers to help manage any residual pain following your procedure.
